Tellington Touch (TTouch) is a healthcare and training approach developed by Internationally known animal expert and Feldenkrais Teacher Linda Tellington-Jones who applied the principles of the Feldenkrais method for humans to her approach for teaching and healing animals. Her revolutionary techniques promote optimal performance and health without fear or force.
TTouch consists of gentle non-habitual circular touches and movement exercises. The touches are done all over the body as well as specific areas that need attention such as the tail, ears, paws and pads, and mouth. Each part of the body is associated with specific areas in the brain and can affect not only the health of an animal, but also how she feels, behaves, how they interact with you, and others in their environment. When an area is worked on such as the mouth we can shift behaviors such as over activity, nervousness, barking, chewing, timidness and fear.

I came to study TTouch IN 1995 because a rambunctious golden retriever named Kayla came into my life who had a number of issues including being fearful and anxious and totally resistant to traditional dog training methods (at that time positive reinforcement training was not well known). The big question for me was how do I communicate with this beautiful dog to help her adapt to living in this human world in a kind and compassionate way. Most important I just wanted her to have a happy dog life in a sometimes calm and appropriately.
